When you are working at your best, you are like? … What?
This exercise comes from the “How To Make Your Hybrid Team Feel <<Teamy>>” workshop, which I recently attended and which was facilitated by Judy Rees and Matt Barnaby (thank you to both!). I have tried it with the UBS People team and we had a good laugh, while also learning something new about each other, so I highly recommend you consider it for your next team meeting too 😀 If you are a people manager, treat it as a way to experiment with your team development skills and job crafting. It helps also with encouraging everyone to switch on their cameras, in case that’s a challenge you face as a team meeting chair.
Here it comes!
◾️ Ask everyone to get ready a post-it note or sheet of paper
◾️ Ask them to draw their answer to the question: “When you are working at your best, you are like…what?”
◾️ When everyone is ready ask them to show their pictures – compare & contrast:
– How do you as… (whatever is on your picture) show up on a good day?
– …when under pressure?
– Notice similarities & differences
– What does it mean for you as a team?
Happy to share what’s on my picture and curious to hear what’s on yours!
